About Paper Wolf Art

3d Generalist and Technical Artist with a passion for games and the knowledge of film also.

Warstrider

Concept work done for eventual modeling.  Based on the RPG named Exalted.  Basically a fantasy mech driven by a pilot.

Currently working on a Photoshop version of the concept with a more realistic feel, before moving into Maya for a block out and then zBrush for details.

Wyvren Concept

Work from a vehicle concept course that I was unable to complete due to work picking up.

Currently working on refining the model, uprezing, and adding details.

Background:

Currently being replaced the UNSF-SA-078 “Wyvren” as once the U.N.'s main scouting and ground interdiction vehicle. This small armored vehicle boosts a variable ammunition 106mm magnetic artillery cannon along with a spotter drone and launcher. Fast overland and able to take difficult terrain well thanks to advanced shock system. When the spotter drone finds the target the UNSF-SA-078 stops and anchors itself to the ground using any of six artillery anchors around the vehicle. Using GPS and telemetry from the drone the UNSF-SA-078 can hit targets at 10,000 to 17,500 meters and during the UNSF-SA-078's service hits have been confirmed as far as 28,482 meters.

Often called a “coffin with a big gun” the UNSF-SA-078 “Wyvren” where remarkably cramped. Crewed by a driver and a gunner sitting back to back and stuffed with emergency gear drivers and gunners have complained for years about back pain. The gunner, working though a digital screen, operates the drone as the driver drives and the driver taking over when anchored so that the gunner can calculate the shot. The UNSF-SA-078 is being retired mostly due to the recent major loss of experienced UNSF-SA-078 crews, with new U.N. Scout forces being mostly inexperienced with the older targeting systems. First rolled out in 2048 and retired in 2093 hopefully we will no longer need weapons like this.

Wolf Skeleton

An older project, basically an quadruped anatomy study that used an ancient dire wolf skeleton found.  Skeletally accurate, bone for bone.  Project planed to use both a muscle system and fur with an outer skin.

Currently working on building the rig for the skeleton before moving on to the outer skin.

"We are all artist.  Some of us draw, some people build, others plan and think.  It all takes creativity, imagination, passion, skill, and drive."
